The Flood

In sandtray therapy, The Flood represents overwhelming emotions, loss of control, and the sudden upheaval of life as it was once known. It can symbolize being swept away by grief, fear, or trauma, as well as the cleansing and renewal that often follow destruction. In the tray, it offers clients a way to express feelings of drowning, chaos, or devastation, while also holding space for themes of resilience, transformation, and new beginnings.

This miniature was requested by Robyn Reyna (Texas APT) and Katie Accola (Play Heal Grow Disaster Relief Project) to aid in replenishing the offices of play therapists whose offices were damaged or destroyed in the Central Texas Flood in July 2025. Serendipity Sand & Play Shop was honored to assist these incredible women by creating and printing 100 flood miniatures to hand out to the play therapists that were affected.
