Screaming Goats – Sandtray Miniatures (Set of 2)

Often referred to as “screaming goats,” these figures are inspired by the Indigarrion Goats gifted to Thor, best known for their loud, relentless cries. While humorous on the surface, their defining feature—their scream—is believed to emerge from moments of fear, discomfort, or overwhelm.

In sandtray therapy, these goats can powerfully symbolize externalized emotion—the kind that cannot stay quiet. They may represent clients who express distress through big behaviors, loud reactions, agitation, or chaos when internal regulation feels out of reach. For some, the scream becomes a voice for fear, anxiety, sensory overload, or unmet needs.

As a set of two, these goats also offer important relational symbolism. They may reflect companionship in distress, co-regulation, shared chaos, or feeling seen and understood by someone who is “screaming too.” At times, they can symbolize mirroring behaviors, sibling dynamics, peer relationships, or systems where dysregulation spreads quickly.

Symbolic themes include:

  • Positive: expression, honesty, connection, shared experience, release

  • Challenging: fear, overwhelm, chaos, lack of control, discomfort

These miniatures invite exploration of questions such as:

  • What happens when emotions are too big to hold inside?

  • How do we communicate distress when words are not accessible?

  • Who is allowed to be loud—and who is expected to stay quiet?

The Screaming Goats offer a meaningful, often relatable symbol for clients navigating emotional intensity, behavioral expression, and the need to be heard.

Includes: 2 goats
